eBIRST is a range of USB controlled test tools capable of performing automated path resistance tests on Pickering Interfaces PXI, LXI or PCI controlled switching solutions. Each tool simply interfaces with the switching systems connector so a test can be run using the supplied Windows-based software.

Some applications require the use of two tools to allow the testing of paths between two connectors of the same type or different. The two tools work together in a master/slave mode via a connection between their master/slave connectors to measure the thru path.
